Upcoming Open Houses

Dear 8th Grade Students and Families, 

As you are preparing to submit your high school application on December 1st, I’m sharing information on The Young Women’s Leadership School of Brooklyn (TYWLS Brooklyn) as an option for your student.

The mission of TYWLS Brooklyn is to empower our students. We create a community of confident and compassionate students and successfully prepare them for college and other post secondary experiences, particularly in the fields of math, science, technology and engineering.

TYWLS Brooklyn is one of six public secondary schools serving students grade 6–12, supported by the Student Leadership Network, which was established to nurture the intellectual curiosity and creativity of young women. 

Some of the school’s highlights include:

• 97% graduation rate for Class of 2022

• 100% College Acceptance Rate - a full time Director of College Counseling provides comprehensive college access services to EVERY student and family

• Advanced Placement classes (AP Biology, AP Calculus AB, AP Computer Science Principles, and more!)

• Dance Classes with teaching artists from Alvin Ailey 

• Guitar and Music classes for every student

Good Afternoon 8th Grade Students, Families, and Educators,
 
Talent Unlimited High School will be hosting three Open House sessions in the upcoming weeks. Two of the sessions will be held in person, and one session will be held virtually. 
 
The dates and times of the Open Houses are as follows:
  • Friday, October 21 @ 6:30 PM (In Person  - 317 E 67th St, New York, NY 10065)
  • Saturday, October 22 @ 10:00 AM (In Person  - 317 E 67th St, New York, NY 10065)
  • Wednesday, October 16 @ 6:30 PM (Virtual - ZOOM LINK, Meeting ID 989 8043 9270, Passcode 102622)
At the Open House sessions, you will have the opportunity to:
  • See student performances from all 5 performing arts studios
  • Hear an overview of Talent Unlimited High School
  • Meet faculty members in the various studios our school offers
  • Hear from and talk to current students
  • Find out more about our liberal arts program
  • Learn and ask about the admissions and auditions process

Finally, we will be holding two in-person auditions this fall. They are as follows:
  • Tuesday November 8th 8:00am - 3:00pm (Chancellor's Conference Day - students do not have school)
  • Saturday November 19th 9:00am - 3:00pm
Students and families interested in auditions should reserve an audition time using the Audition Registration Form. Students also have the option of submitting an audition video, and can find more information at the DOE Auditions Website.

Past Events
We will be holding an Open House event in-person on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 5 p.m.  We are located at 345 East 15th Street, Manhattan, New York 10003. The Open House will take place in our school auditorium and families will be given the opportunity to tour the school with current students and staff.
